I have never and will never be a brand snob, but I do love nice (usually expensive) things and I don’t like my clothes to fall apart. For these reasons, I was a BIG skeptic of all the super cheap (most former wholesale) websites that started popping up a few years ago. However, I am not one to be left out, so I gave into temptation and clicked on a popular one called Shein.com. I was impressed by two things immediately:

  1. That the clothes are so on trend
  2. The fact that consumers and bloggers alike regularly upload photos of clothes and comment on the fit and quality (wow)!

I began filling my shopping cart immediately, and it was so much fun because I had 4 pairs of shoes in my cart and the price was only $98! Too good to be true right? Well, the shoes have arrived, and I reviewed each one individually because to my surprise, they all were different brands. Additionally, when I looked up those brands, I found them on a variety of different sites with up to 60% markups!

Here are the four shoes I ordered, all big trends for spring and summer. I purchased woven mules (my favorite of the four pairs), embroidered sneakers, classic nude sandals, and metallic slides (I warned you about my addiction). IMG_5914.jpeg

  1. First up, the Woven mules.

I have wanted a pair of woven heels for a while, so when I decided to try out Shein, I typed that right in the search bar. I did not expect to find a whole lot, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Appearance: Beautiful. The shoes look great. I wore them and was stopped several times throughout the day and asked where I had purchased them. The pointy toe elongates my legs. The color makes them versatile and easy to throw on with a variety of outfits. I also love a pair of shoes that can be worn when I’m out and about as well as to work.

Fit: Narrow and runs small.

Durability: Minimum. I don’t see these shoes lasting past a season.

Comfort: These shoes are not comfortable, but they are also not uncomfortable. They are somewhere in the middle, but this is where you definitely can tell the difference in quality. I wore them for a whole day and my feet were fine but not super supported.

2. Next, Metallic Slides!

Yes, I bought another pair of metallic slides. To be fair, my Zara ones are too nice to wear on the beach so I wanted some beach slides and these metallic ones were perfect. They sell similar ones on almost every single retail site right now (seriously), but these were so affordable, I couldn’t pass them up and they look amazing!

Appearance: These shoes are just as skinny and polished as they look online (and above). They arrived scuff free and ready to go. I slipped them on and was immediately satisfied with this purchase. They simply look great.

Fit: True to size.

Durability: Medium. They are very sturdy and, surprisingly, well made. The shoes are not Shein’s own brand, but another brand called Yoki.

Comfort:  Relatively comfortable but a bit stiff and very little arch support.

3. My second favorite pair, Floral embroidered Sneakers.

I absolutely love these shoes (lol). The package came Thursday, and I wore them on Friday. They are gorgeous and colorful, and so spring (even though it’s still not here). I could not wait to test them out.

Appearance: Perfect, exactly as pictured.

Fit: True to size.

Durability: Medium, wore them from 7 am to 8 pm without any signs of the shoe beginning to wear, rip, or unravel.

Comfort: Similar to the woven flats, they are neither super comfortable nor uncomfortable but definitely don’t expect the level of comfort you get from your Nike’s or Addidas. They look like sneakers but the comfort level is more similar to regular flats.

4. Lastly, wide strap tan sandals.

As I mentioned in my travel packing guide, I love a neutral sandal. My friend Amanda had a pair exactly like these when we went to Italy (see pictures of that trip here).  When I saw a similar version on Shein, I instantly added them to my cart. The versatility of these sandals made them an easy buy.

Appearance: Nice clean look (aka the faux leather looks real lol)

Fit: Narrow. I would not recommend if you have wide feet.

Durability: Medium.

Comfort: They are a bit tight and narrow, but I believe they will loosen up as I wear them. They provide little arch support, but they do not feel very different from my other sandals.

These shoes are sold out, which brings me to my final piece of advice. Buy quickly as Shein sells out of all the good stuff very fast!

Happy shoe shopping.

You actually make it appear really easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be actually one thing that I think I would by no means understand. It kind of feels too complicated and extremely wide for me. I’m looking ahead in your subsequent post, I will try to get the cling of it!
