I have always been attracted to color. I can remember exactly one time in the past 5 years when I actually shopped for something in the color black. As much as I love the color black (for obvious reasons), when it comes to dressing myself, I pick bright colors almost every time. To my absolute joy, bright bold colors, stripes and rainbow prints are all over the place for spring/summer 2018. Fashion is always reinventing itself so the rainbow/stripe trend is nothing new, but actually reminiscent of the 70’s disco era. Designers this season have reimagined this look using brighter colors, bolder fabrics, and unique color schemes. Wearing this trend is more about confidence and commitment than anything else. You have to commit to being okay with being the brightest person in the room, and embrace the mood-boosting effect that wearing bright colors can have, especially during the spring.

This skirt is a favorite find that I searched for after seeing a similar one in a fashion magazine. By search, I mean that I literally, typed in google “satin rainbow skirt” and found this one for under $50! It is sold out now, but I linked to one I like even better below.

The nude, three-toned pumps I paired with the skirt are from what has to be my “go to” shoe designer Kurt Geiger. His website is the first place I visit when I want a nice, moderately priced pair of heels. I stumbled upon his website for the first time as I searched for gold pumps to wear to my older sister’s wedding. The shoes looked amazing and fit well. It wasn’t long before I went back to get another pair of pumps, this time in nude. I saw these and immediately loved them.  Despite the shoes being three different neutral colors, they still can be worn with just about anything. These are no longer on the site but I linked some that are almost identical below.

I paired my favorite neutral pumps with horizontally striped socks to add a bit of subtle pattern mixing which I always think gives an outfit an interesting twist.

As I have mentioned before, I love a good statement earring. Per usual, I bought these before I had any clue what I wanted to wear them with. Luckily for me, bright colors are trending which means these colorful sequins earrings will get a lot of wear.
